1Core Concepts

Q: What is Tensor?

A: Tensor is a research-stage blockchain project focused on open Proof of Work (PoW) and auditable computation. The protocol is still in design and algorithm validation, and no mainnet has launched.

Q: What does zero premine mean?

A: Zero premine means the genesis block creates no tokens. The 2 billion token supply cap is intended to be issued through public block rules to miners and validator service nodes. The project team receives no genesis allocation.

Q: How is TAM-PoW different from Bitcoin PoW?

A: TAM-PoW is a research candidate that combines memory access with sequential computation for GPU-oriented hardware. It has not completed implementation or security validation, so no superiority over existing schemes is claimed.

Q: What is DIEP?

A: The Deterministic Integer Execution Profile (DIEP) is a research specification intended to make different devices produce bit-identical results for identical inputs. Cross-device consistency still requires validation.

2Participation

Q: Can I mine today?

A: No. There is no mainnet and no runnable TAM-PoW miner. RTX 40/50 owners may register interest for future testnet work, but testnet tokens have no exchange value and are not an investment.

Q: How will validators be rewarded?

A: The validator service reward mechanism (VR-P0) remains under research, including identity and Sybil-resistance requirements. Validator rewards will not launch before that mechanism is validated. Anyone can run a full node for verification without waiting for rewards.

Q: What hardware is recommended?

A: Future testnet mining is expected to target NVIDIA RTX 40 or 50 series GPUs with at least 8 GB of VRAM. CMP mining cards and RTX 30 or older cards are outside the current support target. Full-node verification only requires a normal CPU and adequate storage.

Q: How can developers participate?

A: Review protocol specifications, submit cross-device consistency reports, analyze TAM-PoW security, and evaluate the economic model. Valid reproducible reports may qualify for the published research bounty terms.

3Technology and Roadmap

Q: Are the V1, V2, and V3 phases final?

A: V1 pure PoW is the current plan. V2 inference auditing and V3 training auditing are conditional research tracks that depend on model licensing, data availability, and quality validation. A launch is not guaranteed.

Q: When will a token be listed?

A: There is no listing schedule. Mainnet work requires algorithm validation, independent audit, and testnet milestones. The project does not provide price or return expectations.

Q: How can the zero-premine claim be verified?

A: After mainnet launch, genesis code, configuration, and early blocks are intended to be public and auditable. Anyone should be able to recompute issuance from genesis and verify supply conservation with the published tools.

Q: How long does TAM-PoW verification take?

A: The current design estimate is about 189 seconds on a GPU and 31 minutes on a CPU. These are estimates, not measurements; future work may reduce verification cost with VDF or recursive SNARK techniques.

4Economic Model

Q: How is project operations funding handled?

A: Operations are expected to use a real cash budget, compliant donations, or delivered service revenue. The team does not receive premine tokens and cannot redirect validator allocations into a team pool.

Q: How are transaction fees handled?

A: The FEE-P1 proposal assigns about 95% of fees to the block miner and about 5% to a burn pool, checked every 262,800 blocks. This mechanism is not implemented and requires audit before it can be frozen.

Q: Will the supply be deflationary?

A: That is not guaranteed. Deflation requires total fees to exceed issuance during the same period. Halving lowers issuance speed but does not burn existing tokens.

Q: What is the miner-to-validator split?

A: The current planning suggestion is 90% miners and 10% validators. It is not final, and validator rewards will not be issued before VR-P0 is validated.

5Risk and Investment

Q: Is Tensor an investment?

A: We do not provide investment advice. Tensor is a research project with technical, security, regulatory, and execution risks. Participation should be based on technical interest, not return expectations.

Q: Can testnet tokens be exchanged?

+

A: Absolutely not. Testnet tokens have no value and cannot be exchanged for mainnet tokens or fiat. Claims to the contrary are fraudulent.

Q: Could development stop?

A: Yes. Zero premine reduces the incentive to extract value from a genesis allocation, but development and technical failure risks remain. Progress, finances, and limitations should remain publicly documented.

Q: How should I evaluate the project?

A: Check whether the code and specifications are open, the team is transparent, independent audits exist, and claims are reproducible. Be cautious of fixed-return promises, purchase pressure, hidden risks, and exaggerated marketing.
